Create a buzz-building, Like-generating, email-capturing, holiday-minded social media campaign.
Strategy:
Leverge the power of Facebook to generate buzz and gain followers the old fashioned way... by giving away something awesome.
Execution:
Once the giveaway item was chosen (a white KFX®90 four-wheeler), the theme came naturally and KFXmas was borne. We then promptly lengthened the name to House of Kawasaki’s White KFX Christmas Giveaway so as not to stir up any Xmas-vs.-Christmas controversy. From there, we built a microsite to capture entries and serve up the details. On the microsite, we dropped in a Like button so visitors could like House of Kawasaki’s Facebook page on the spot. We also integrated an automatic Share feature into the entry form so entrants were could easily post the activity to their Facebook page and spread the word. To further promote the giveaway, we ran a Facebook ad campaign and posted regularly on the House of Kawasaki Facebook page.
Result:
From December 1st to December 24th, 270 people entered the giveaway. During that same span, KFXmas.com gathered 594 visits, HOK’s Facebook page gained 141 Likes and 8,820 post views, and the Facebook ads grabbed 2,318,785 impressions with 473 clicks. On Christmas Eve, one extremely excited mother-to-be received a white 2010 KFX®90 to put under the tree.
